1934년 개통된 영도대교는 도개교였지만 도개는 1966년 9월 중단되었다. 그 후 47년 만에 도개 기능을 회복한 6차로로 재개통 되었다. 길이 214.8m, 너비 25.3m 규모로 도개 부분은 1천t급 배가 지나갈 수 있도록 75도 각도로 세워진다. 영도대교 도개는 매일 하루 한차례 오후 12:00부터 12:15까지 들어 올려지며 교통을 통제한다.
